With the lifting of many Covid restrictions registration for West London runs is no longer mandatory but is still encouraged as it gives the Hare an indicative pack size in advance to advise the pub and registration has been useful to the Hash Cash as an aid to keeping stats and collecting subs so if you plan to come on this run please register by clicking on This Link.

  • Run 1837 – Thursday 8th July ~ Northfields

    Hare – Ryde

Registration is required for all participants in West London runs during the current pandemic. If you plan to come on this run please register ASAP by using This link

This week’s run will start from The Forester, 2 Leighton Road, Ealing, London W13 9EP map link. The nearest station is Northfields Tube on the Piccadilly Line and there will be a trail of chalk P arrows from that station to help you find the pub. It will be a staggered start, runners should start between 18.45 and 19.00 hours, walkers can start any time after 18.30. Runners starting after 18.50 should mark through checks when they are called. The Pub will provide bag storage, speak to the staff about this if the Hare is not available. Please do not start any earlier than the above times as the Hare will be setting the trail alone and it would put her under undue pressure.

There will be drink stop on trail which will not be open before 19.30 hours and the Hare has booked tables for at least 24 Hashers in the public bar of the Foresters for after run drinks. Hashers who would prefer to drink in the open air are free to make their own arrangements with the pub to book a table in their Garden.

  • Run 1831 – Thursday 27th May ~ Teddington

    Hare – Dunny Penny

Registration is required for all participants in West London runs during the current pandemic. If you plan to come on this run please register ASAP by using This Link.

The trail will start from Teddington Lock, near The Anglers pub, Map Link and there will be a trail of chalk P arrows from Teddington station to guide you to the start point. Start on trail any time after 18.30 hours, the faster you run the later you should start. The trail will be 9 km long with shortcuts. Duration: 50 – 60 mins for runners and about the same for SCBs. There will be a drink stop on trail which will be open from 19:20 hours. The Hare has booked a large number of tables for us in the garden of the Anglers from 20:00 hours, this will be about 5 mins walk from the drink drink stop. Entry to the pub will be via top secret password to be revealed in confidence at the drink stop.

Tips from the Hare: The trail uses a small area, and is will be very tightly marked to take us through some great terrain. There will be few checks to keep you on the best bits of the area. FOLLOW THE TRAIL MARKINGS – especially important in the first 5km / 30 minutes, if you try to be clever and/or use local knowledge to jump across to runners you see in the distance you will not only miss out on some lovely territory but could end up getting very confused and running round in ever decreasing circle until you disappear up your own bum.

The drink stop is not the main event, please support our local hospitality industry by attending the pub after the run. The Hare may need to adjust our booking according to how many register, so please register ASAP using the above link, we have re-introduced the field on the registration form to indicate whether or not you plan to come to the pub after the run, please use this.

The Hare will be available on the WLH3 runners on trail Whatsapp group from 18:30 to 20:30 to help out the challenged.

  • Thursday 9 April

Our hare for the evening will be KMA.

Those of you who have not already installed the Zoom app on your device may wish to Install Zoom in advance, not strictly necessary but might save time on the night. Please observe the following points of etiquette for our Zoom circles.
    • Keep your microphone muted until you wish to speak, otherwise the call will be drowned out by a mush of background noise.
    • If an RA is in evidence, please wait until you are called on to respond before unmuting your mic.
    • If you wish to attract the RA’s attention use the ‘raise hand’ button in Zoom to indicate that you want to speak  (similar to placing your glass on your head in the Circle).
    • If you wish to make a particular point of order to the RA, use the chat feature in Zoom.
    • Seek permission from the RA or session administrator before sharing your screen with the group.

  • Virtual Run 4, Chiswick, 23rd April 2020

Run hared this week by Knickers.

The circle was attended by the usual suspects, and the hare was awarded the customary down-down for what was generally acknowledged to be a very classy cultural trail around Chiswick. We were again pleased to see some familiar faces and returnees from across the pond, and hear about the deranged antics of their Commander in Chief.
Notable by their absence were Rent Boy and Ms Dunnypenny. Rumour has it that they were attending some sort of rave house party in Westminster Close. We shall expect to hear more on this at next weeks circle.

    On On

  • Virtual Run 3, Ealing, 16th April 2020

This weeks run is hared by Pope.

  • Virtual Run 2, Richmond, 9th April 2020

This weeks virtual hash was hared by KMA and took us, virtually, around Richmond Park and back through the streets of Richmond to the Mitre, which was unfortunately closed.

The hare/RA cajoled the assembled virtual hashers through a mini historical quiz, featuring several of the Richmond landmarks on his trail. That was enough to get the participants sufficiently lubricated to start talking the usual load of bo****cks that constitutes hash social drinking. Good to see several returnees from the US of A and elsewhere. Truly, the West London virtual hash is turning into a global event!
Covid-19 share buying tip #3: any company involved in the production and distribution of wine boxes.

  • Virtual Run 1, Teddington, 2nd April 2020

The first West London Hash Covid-19 run, hared by New Balls Please took us on a virtual tour around some of Teddington’s landmarks, featuring Bushy Park and its extensive flora and fauna.

  • Run 1802, The Country House, Earlsfield, 12th March 2020

This week’s run was hared by Casual Simon, and kicked off from Earlsfield, one of the less commonly frequented stops on the Waterloo loop line. His trail took us along the Wandle towards Wandsworth, before looping around and heading back via Wandsworth Common to the Country House pub in Earlsfield. Not a bad trail with, for the most part, very clear arrows and just the right number of checks. However a number of us were caught out by the occasional complete disappearance of any visible trail for some considerable distance (hence the strange loops on the map below.) The hare was kind enough to provide a drink stop featuring one or two bottles of Sambuca and similar spirits from the back of his drinks cabinet, which seemed to be well received.

Back in the Country House, we were pleased to find that they had at least a couple of drinkable ales on tap. Certainly enough to lubricate the circle, overseen by RA Whacker on this occasion. Deputy RA’s in training, Casting Slouch and Roadrunner, received down-downs for not taking their training seriously enough. Must try harder next time! Your scribe contributed a few bags of hash chips to go with the post-circle drinking, as he was feeling rather peckish after the 9km run. They seemed to disappear fairly rapidly.

  • Run 1801, The Pear Tree, Barons Court, 5th March 2020

Run hared by Moron and Martian Matron, in an area not often frequented by WLH. Your scribe has to confess to giving the hash a miss on this occasion due to the particularly shitty weather, so congratulations to all of you who did brave the elements. Trail map picture kindly supplied by Moron.

If anyone has any photos they would like to contribute to this site, please send them to wlhashflash@gmail.com.

  • Run No 1819 (Guy Fawkes) – Wednesday 4th November – Twickenham

Registration is required for all participants in our runs during the current Covid emergency if you plan to come on this run please register ASAP by clicking on This Link

    Hare : Man Magnet

This week’s run will, for the first time ever, take place on Wednesday. The trail will start from outside Twickenham station map link

The standard Tier 2 rules will apply:- The start time for the run is 6.30 pm to 7pm , however, faster runners should leave closer to 7pm.  If you have a group ready to leave just before 7pm please wait a few minutes for any late comers so they do not need to run on their own.  DO NOT start before 6.30pm as the trail won’t be ready and the drink stops will not be operational.  Hashers leaving the start point after 6.50pm are requested to start marking through the checks, please bring chalk.

In addition the Hare has advised that a torch would be useful, and also that there will be a shortcut for walkers, so they should feel no need to start before 6.30 P.M.

We are not only making history by running on a Wednesday but re-writing it as well, as this will be our Guy Fawkes night run, with a suitably explosive drink stop. Remember, remember the fourth of November…

For those wishing to go for a beer after the run there are several pubs in the vicinity, such as The Albany and The Cabbage Patch with outdoor space where groups of up to six could meet. Please make your own arrangements if you wish to do this. Alternatively you could sit on your own inside, and cry into your beer as you contemplate four weeks of lock down without pubs or hashing.

  • Run No 1818 – Thursday 29th October -Richmond Park Halloween run

Advance registration is mandatory for all participants in West London Runs during the current Covid emergency, if you plan to come on this run please register using This Link. The hare has requested that you register as early as possible so that she can gauge numbers for drink stops.

The trail for this week’s run will start from Richmond Gate of Richmond Park map link  and the run will end at the same location. Richmond Gate is around 20  minutes walk from Richmond station and can also be reached by taking the 371 bus from outside the station and disembarking at The American University on Queens road.

The following GM’s instructions for all runs under Tier 2 restrictions will apply:-The start time for the run is 6.30 pm to 7pm from the gate, however, faster runners should leave closer to 7pm.  If you have a group ready to leave just before 7pm please wait a few minutes for any late comers so they do not need to run on their own.  DO NOT start before 6.30pm as the trail won’t be ready and the drink stops will not be operational.  Hashers leaving the start point after 6.50pm are requested to start marking through the checks, which will all be in flour this week, so no chalk needed, but please consider bringing some to future runs.

    The Hare is Casting Slouch

This will be our Halloween Trick or Treat run and the Hare says that it will be completely in Richmond Park so will be spooky, scary and dark, a torch will be essential and the Hare suggests Hashers run in groups. Fancy dress is encouraged for all participants, as well as saying “trick-or-treat” to receive their provisions. She has also promised that the run will be short and and sociable, please observe social distancing and the Rule of Six at drink stops. There are a few pubs with gardens near Richmond Gate, where groups of up to six can meet outdoors after the run: The Lass of Richmond Hill and The Marlborough are at the top of the hill, and of course the ever hash friendly Dukes Head is in the Vineyard, a bit nearer to the station.

  • Run 1800, The Priory Tavern, Kilburn, 27th February 2020

This week’s run, ably hared by Shakesbeer, took us from Kilburn down to the canal and the scenic Paddington Basin area. At one point on the trail we paused at a regroup stop to view the blue plaque commemorating Roger Bannister, and the training ground he used in preparing for his record breaking sub-4 minute mile run. An inspiration to us all, but I suspect he would not have fitted in with the hashing ethos!

We enjoyed a well marked trail with just the right number of checks and a perfect length, so no complaints at all from the pack (q.v. last week’s run). The hare even managed to produce a drink stop from her back pack, which went down well.

Back in the Priory Tavern, the circle was administered by RA Butt Plug, and down-downs were dished out where appropriate. The beer just about lasted to the end of the evening (again, q.v. last weeks’ run), and everyone went home happy.

  • Run No 1817 ~ Thursday 22nd October ~ Harrow-on-the-Hill

    Hare : Roadkill

Important-Pre-registration is required for all participants in West London Runs during the current Covid emergency, if you plan to come on this, or any other run, you must register in advance using This link which will be open for each week’s run by the evening of the Tuesday before the run.

This week’s run will start from outside Harrow-on-the-Hill Station (Metropolitan and Chiltern Lines) HA1 1BB Map Link. Trains from Baker Street take only 20 minutes and 15 minutes from London Marylebone. Exit the station via the Lowlands Road exit LHS – do not take the exit towards the town centre and bus station RHS.

There will be no bag drop, run with what you bring and do not hang around waiting for a pack to form. Set off as soon as you turn up, anytime between 18.30 and 19.00 hours. Early starters should not mark through checks ahead of the main runners.

The hare will follow our former hash tradition and re-run the trail from 19.00 hours, marking through the checks for late comers and walkers.
A torch is not essential but would be useful towards the end of the run.

There will be a drink stop towards the end of the run so stay on trail and do not short cut. The hare’s able assistant will be at the drink stop location from 19.15 onwards.

If you want to go for a drink afterwards nearby under Tier 2 rules The Junction and The Royal Oak have outside tables. Please make your own arrangements in groups of not more than six. There is also the Moon on the Hill, The George, O’Neill’s and the Trinity Bar but they have no outside area so follow the solo drinking rules if you choose these locations.
